Benefits of practicing gratitude


















Practicing gratitude on a daily basis can reduce mental conditions like depression and anxiety, lower your risk for disease, and fill your brain with feel-good chemicals like serotonin!⁠ Did you know that besides your brain, your gut is the only organ with its own nervous system? Your gut, in fact, contains more neurotransmitters than your brain. This means, that when we have negative thoughts it also affects our digestive system, and immunity.⁠ Having positive thoughts boost your mood, spirit, and generate even more positivity and happiness in your life, its like a ripple effect. ⁠Think of it this way, Like attracts like. If you find yourself having negative thoughts, you have a choice to change the channel and have a positive experience. It takes practice, but pretty soon, your mind will naturally gravitate toward positive thoughts. ⁠

Practice daily and focus on what you have today.

Keep a gratitude journal and write down 5-10 things you’re grateful for each day. ⁠ I want to share with you what I am grateful for today (tomorrow I may be grateful for something else): - for the air, I breathe⁠ - for the sun⁠ - for the home I live in⁠ - for my mom⁠ - for food on my table⁠ - for all the farmers⁠ What are you thankful/grateful for today?⁠ With love, Laila⁠
